I own one iron gall ink: Kala Nostalgia Spring Rain. I bought it for the paperwork at my wedding. Spring Rain’s iron gall qualities make it waterproof. Permanence felt appropriate and meaningful. Inked and cleaned within 24 hours. The iron gall terrors, indeed.

This has been a recovery week. I spent four days off of my phone, with few exceptions. My head lay in books from my mountainous to-read pile.

Reading helps me recharge. A trying school year and six weeks of travel saw me feeling ragged. Consequently, I read a lot this week. Four of five weekdays were spent reading. I feel like myself again now.

My local pen group continues to grow. We had 16 people attend last Saturday’s gathering. And I raffled off a homemade 10-pen storage case.

A heart-felt thank you to everyone who reached out to share congratulations and/or to check in with me these past two weeks. I’m grateful.

And I’m excited to get back into my weekly reflections.
