Planning for planning: Hunting for a new planner system
I explored my 2022 planner options all September. The process is unique each year. Every year, I learn more about how I work best. And, frustratingly, how I work best changes over time, too. So: a moving target.
I settled on the Hobonichi Techo Day-Free in the petite A6 size. 2022, here I come.
Season one preview
Something new is afoot. My first season of reference posts is nearly here.
Each season, I tap into my background as a researcher and educator to share ten posts that reflect on how the resources around us can balance being productive with enjoying the process.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
Last week’s palette lives on — mostly. The collection of pens, nibs, and inks is already well-balanced. Why try to fix what isn’t broken.
I do, however, need a new daily driver. And I inked a new wild card — for the fun of it.
Life as a nib-size nomad
Writing with a balance of broad and narrow nib sizes this week has been instructive. I recognize that I have become a nib-size nomad. I happily jump from EF to M to Zooms and B nibs.
My line-width preferences have ebbed and flowed both over time and depending on the kind of writing I intend to get into.
